Explanations for the Associations between Socioeconomic Factors and Health

s were obtained and read for relevance to the search criteria. Articles were obtained through the internet, libraries and, in some instances, direct contact with the authors. A number of relevant publications were also obtained directly from the PHAC/NHC Secretariat. The authors and reference lists of key articles and sources obtained were analysed for appropriate reports and studies. Articles obtained for analysis were first skim-read for relevance to the literature review, and then sorted into core articles for inclusion by category according to the agreed report structure. Detailed analysis, evaluation and synthesis of the articles into a report format were then undertaken. 2.2 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Many individuals have assisted with this review.
